BMW XM G09 with F I D DSS Dual-stacked Springs System

With over five years of hands-on experience using F I D's stacked-spring technology, Kevin naturally chose the DSS system for a top-tier client’s BMW XM G09 luxury SUV — striking in red with bold black accents.

Based on feedback from his workshop technicians, Kevin noted that the F I D DSS product was simple to assemble and install. Each part was clearly labelled, making it easy to determine the correct side of the vehicle for installation. The components were intuitive to assemble into a stacked system, designed to fit only in their proper orientation.

The adjusters, offering a 50mm (2-inch) range, are notably robust and built to last — likely outliving the vehicle itself. They feature three protruding tabs that align with the indentations of the rubber isolators, guiding the correct orientation during installation. Adjusting the ride height was reported as smooth and precise.

The rubber isolators, positioned between the spring and the metal perch, are 6mm thick, effectively dampening noise to enhance the driving experience. Their three distinct indentations align with the adjusters’ tabs, assisting both in proper fitment and noise reduction

Each DSS system also includes acetal rings that sit between the flat surface of the spring and the flat seat of the adjuster. These rings reduce friction and prevent the spring from causing the adjuster to rotate under heavy load.
